It’s a glorious day
This is my favorite time of year in Costa Rica. Beautiful, simply beautiful!
Earth 2100
For those of you who didn’t get a chance to watch ABC’s Earth 2100, go to their website and catch some glimpses into the show.
When I first started watching it yesterday, I was not sure whether I really liked the approach they took to telling the story. I was wrong. It was a very creative way to keep me from falling into the trance of watching a “TV Show” or “Movie” and kept in the present to the information that was being shared.
Although I’m not one for watching, reading or being captured by the Global Warming Doom and Gloom (I believe it exists, but am not a prone to the panic tactics that many use) This show however, does make you really, really think about the current state of affairs of our global attitude towards the very eventual outcome of Global Warming and what needs to be done NOW to side-step this disastrous potential future.
Along with the doom and gloom was the amazing job we have done to create technologies to present such an outcome. But the thing that really caught me was that so much of this is based on economics! Money? Our governments and Corporations would rather the Earth be devastated by climatic global change because it costs too much?
I think we really need to ask ourselves and our individual governments and demand that they begin working together and find the solutions to these global problems. Perhaps a percentage of each country’s gross national budget is put into a world technology fund that is used to start making the changes throughout the world
We are a species that waits until we no longer have a choice before we move on a solution. WHAT WILL BE THE EVENT THAT FORCES OUR HAND? WILL IT BE TOO LATE WHEN WE REALIZE FINALLY TAKE ACTION?
Gone for the weekend
I’m presenting at WealthMasters International on the advantages of international investing in todays economy. This is a great group of people and you should look into what they have to offer. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Highway to Paradise
Sorry I’ve been away everyone. It’s been a busy 09. I have lots to report about Costa Rica. The first thing is that they have confirmed that the coastal highway will be completed this year. It’s been a long time coming (especially if you’ve ever driven on it) This update is great news for current owners and potential investors because getting to the southern zone will be so so so much easier.
Once the coastal highway is done, we will wait with baited breath for them to begin the Caldonera project, which will connect San Jose (the capital) to Jaco and the coastal highway, which will substantially reduce travel time into the south.
More soon.

Costa Rica environment minister steps down under fire
Environment, Energy and Telecommunications Minister Roberto Dobles has resigned from his post, according to a statement issued Friday by President Oscar Arias’ office.
It’s amazing that this guy tried to get away with anything. He knows everyone is watching him, but no, he had to make special deals with a family member on the new mining concessions bill. Sometimes I think I should get into politics! !!Did I just say that? Please ignore anything that I say regarding myself and politics. Besides it’s the weekend.
More on Monday
